Crusaders Set For Rensselaer Invitational

  • The Holy Cross men's track and field team will continue its 2011 outdoor season at Rensselaer Invitational, hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at the Harkness Track & Field in Troy, N.Y. on March 26.
  • Last season at the Rensselaer Invitational, senior Kenneth McKenna (Ossining, N.Y.) led the Crusaders, placing third in both the shot put and discus with a distance of 12.56 meters and 35.88 meters respectively. Junior Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) led the Crusaders on the track with a second place finish in the 5,000, finishing with a time of 15:12.67. Senior Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) placed third in the 3,000 steeple chase with a time of 10:02.83, while junior Connor LaClair (Hyde Park, Vt.) placed ninth in the 400 with a time of 52.12 seconds.
  • Last weekend at the Husky Invitational, senior Alex Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.) ran a personal-best in the 400 with a time of 53.17 seconds. Junior Alex Martin (Sutton, Mass.) also scored a personal-best with a distance of 6.15 meters in the long jump.
