Men’s Track & Field Places 24th At New England Championship
BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) finished second in the 1,000 to lead the Holy Cross men's track and field team at the New England Indoor Championship on Saturday, Feb. 26. Medeiros finished second with a time of 2:27.19. Holy Cross finished 24th overall, while Connecticut won the team competition with 119.50 points.
Freshman Andrew Zitnik (Warren, Ohio) placed ninth in the 200 with a time of 22.41 seconds, while senior Chris Bergan (Shrewsbury, Mass.) finished 14th in the 3,000 with a time of 8:41.05. In the triple jump, Holy Cross was led by junior Alex Martin (Sutton, Mass.) with a 13th place finish and distance of 13.32 meters, while junior Chandler Fenner (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished 14th with a distance of 13.18 meters.
Holy Cross will conclude the indoor season at the IC4A Indoor Championship on March 5-6 in Boston, Mass.
