Holy Cross Men's Track & Field Races At Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Chandler Fenner (Virginia Beach, Va.) placed fourth in the triple jump and senior Alex Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.) finished ninth in the long jump to lead the Holy Cross men's track and field team at the Valentine Invitational Saturday in Boston, Mass. Fenner finished fourth with a distance of 13.89 meters, while Johnson placed ninth with a distance of 6.47 meters.

Freshman Andrew Zitnik (Warren, Ohio) placed 12th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.09 seconds and took 32nd in the 200 with a time of 22.53 seconds. Freshman Sam McGrath (Tyngsboro, Mass.) placed 49th in the 800 with a time of 1:55.87 and senior Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) placed 22nd in the 1,000 with a time of 2:29.52. Junior Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) finished 33nd in the 3,000 with a time of 8:25.19, while junior Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) placed 36th in the 5,000 with a time of 15:07.12. Senior Kenneth McKenna (Ossining, N.Y.) earned a 25th place finish in the shot put with a distance of 12.53 meters and an 18th place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 13.41 meters.

Holy Cross wrapped up the 2011 indoor regular season at the Valentine Invitational and will compete at the Patriot League Indoor Championship on Feb. 18-20 hosted by Navy in Annapolis, Md.
