Track & Field Wraps Up Competition At New England Championship
DEDHAM, Mass. - Senior Tiffany Reid (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) won the 200 and finished second in the 100 and sophomore Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) placed fifth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase to lead the Holy Cross track and field teams at the New England Championship on Saturday afternoon. The women's team finished ninth out of 39 teams with 35 points, while the men's team placed 32nd with four points.
Reid placed first in the 200 with a time of 24.38 seconds and finished second in the 100 with a time of 12.16 seconds. Altenau finished fifth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:19.16. Sophomore Erin Linnehan (Litchfield, N.H.) placed fourth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.04 seconds and senior Olivia Pruszko (Monroe, Conn.) placed fifth in the 400 with a time of 58.12 seconds.
The Crusaders finished the night with a fifth place finish in the 4x100 with a time of 48.23 seconds and took seventh in the 4x400 with a time of 3:54.93.
Qualifying members of the men's and women's track and field teams will compete at the ECAC Championship on May 14-16.
