Timothy Richard Named Patriot League Track Athlete Of The Week
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior Timothy Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) has been named the Patriot League/M-F Athletic Male Track Athlete of the Week for his performance in the 10,000 at last weekend’s Husky Spring Open. This is Richard’s second league honor as he was named Rookie of the Week during the 2006-2007 indoor season.
Richard placed second in the 10,000 at the Husky Spring Open, finishing with a personal-best time of 31:35.65. He lost the race by one second to former Crusader Brad Mish. Richard has led Holy Cross in distance events all season. He finished the indoor season with a personal-best and team leading time of 14:47.18 in the 5,000 at the New England Indoor Championship. At the Patriot League Indoor Championship, Richard narrowly missed setting a new personal-best in the 3,000 and against New Hampshire he recorded a team-best time in the one mile.
The Crusaders continue outdoor competition at the RPI Early Outdoor Invitational in Troy, N.Y., on March 27.
