DEDHAM, Mass. – Senior Timothy Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) finished second in the 10,000 to lead the Holy Cross men’s track and field team at the Husky Spring Open hosted by Northeastern University on Saturday afternoon. Richard placed second with a personal-best time of 31:35.65, while teammates Kyle Rougeot (Torrington, Conn.) and Dylan Leazes (Providence, R.I.) finished fourth and fifth respectively.
In the 5,000, senior Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) ran a personal-best time of 16:29.83, finishing in 20th place. Sophomore Stephen Madsen (New Providence, N.J.) placed 16th in the 1,500 with a time of 4:11.02. In the 400 senior Chase Kennedy (Marblehead, Mass.) placed 10th with a time of 51.93, while junior Connor LaClair (Hyde Park, Vt.) finished 13th with a time of 52.35.
In the field events, the Crusaders were led by a fourth place finish in the triple jump by Alex Martin (Sutton, Mass.) with a distance of 12.88 meters. In the pole vault, Michael Millard (Manhasset, N.Y.) tied for fifth with a height of 3.81 meters. Senior Nicholas LeBlanc (New Bedford, Mass.) finished 11th in the shot put with a distance of 13.10 meters and in the javelin sophomore Henry Bradford (West Bridgewater, Mass.) finished in fifth place with a distance of 54.21 meters.
Holy Cross continues outdoor competition next weekend, March 27, at the RPI Invitational in Troy, N.Y.
