Crusaders Kick Off Outdoor Season At Husky Spring Open

  • The Holy Cross men's track and field team opens the 2010 outdoor season on Saturday, March 20 at the Husky Spring Open hosted by Northeastern University in Dedham, Mass. The Crusaders will compete outdoors for the remaining season, culminating with three outdoor championship events. The Crusaders will compete at the Patriot League Outdoor Championship on April 30-May 1, the New England Outdoor Championship on May 6-8 and the IC4A Outdoor Championship on May 14-16.
  • At last year’s Husky Spring Open, Holy Cross took the top three spots in the 10,000 with senior Timothy Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) placing second with a time of 32:13.11 and sophomore Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) finished third with a time of 32:15.19.
  • Richard wrapped up the indoor season with a personal-best time of 14:47.18 in the 5,000 at the New England Indoor Championship, seven seconds faster than his best time in the 2008-2009 season. Richard finished the 2008-2009 outdoor season with a personal-best time of 31:39.37 in the 10,000 at last year’s Patriot League Outdoor Championship.
