Men’s Track And Field Competes At Boston Indoor Games

BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Timothy Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) led the Crusaders with a third place finish and New England Championship qualifying time at the Boston Indoor Games in Boston, Mass. on Friday evening. New Hampshire won the team competition with 95.50 points, while Holy Cross finished 15th out of 18 teams. Richard finished third in the 5,000 with a New England Championship qualifying time of 14:52.98, while classmate Kyle Rougeot (Torrington, Conn.) took 10th with a time of 15:21.17.

On the track, senior Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) placed 10th in the 1,000 with a time of 2:34.46, while rookie Kyle Shepard (White Plains, N.Y.) placed 14th with a time of 2:36.44. Freshman Kevin Turner (Charlton, Mass.) finished 18th in the 500 with a time of 1:09.74, while freshman Brian Treadway (Albany, N.Y.) took 18th in the 800 with a time of 2:03.09.

In the field, Holy Cross was led by a seventh place finish in the pole vault by sophomore Michael Millard (Manhasset, N.Y.). Millard cleared a height of 3.95 meters. In the shot put, senior Nicholas LeBlanc (New Bedford, Mass.) placed 15 with a distance of 13.23 meters and in the weight throw junior Kenneth McKenna (Ossining, N.Y.) finished 16th with a distance of 12.45 meters.

Holy Cross travels to Orono, Maine on Feb. 6 for the Maine Open. Racing is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
