Men’s Track & Field Selected Eighth In Patriot League Preseason Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's track and field team was selected to finish eighth in the 2009-10 indoor track and field Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Army, who won its 13th Patriot League Championship last season, topped the preseason voting with 96 points and 12 first place votes. Navy received four first place votes and 87 points overall for second place, while Bucknell finished in third place with 75 points. American was voted fourth with 70 points and Lehigh finished in fifth place in the preseason voting with 58 points. Lafayette (48 points), Colgate (21) and Holy Cross (20) round out the poll.

The Crusaders, who began indoor competition on Dec. 5, return 20 letter winners from last year's squad and welcome 15 newcomers to the team. The team continues indoor action at New Hampshire on Jan. 23 and will compete in the 2009-10 Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday-Sunday, Feb. 19-21, at Army's Gillis Field House in West Point, N.Y.
