CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior Chase Kennedy (Marblehead, Mass.) placed fifth in the 400 to lead the Holy Cross men's track and field team at the Harvard Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Cambridge, Mass. Kennedy crossed the line with a time of 52.15 seconds. Freshman Charlie Cunningham (Reading, Mass.) and junior Connor LaClair (Hyde Park, Vt.) also raced in the 400, finishing in eighth and ninth places respectively. Cunningham finished with a time of 54.08 seconds, while LaClair finished with a time of 54.25 seconds.
Also in the sprint events, junior Doug Moringiello (Garden City, N.Y.) placed eighth in the 500 with a time of 1:17.12, while senior A.J. Malloy (Dunbarton, N.H.) took 14th in the 200 with a time of 24.17 seconds. In the distance races, Holy Cross was led by a 10th place finish with a time of 9:10.33in the 3,000 by junior Chris Bergan (Shrewsbury, Mass.). Freshman Kyle Shepard (White Plains, N.Y.) placed 11th in the 1,000 with a time of 2:38.69 and senior Kyle Rougeot (Torrington, Conn.) took 12th in the one mile with a time of 4:30.32.
In the field events, sophomore Alex Martin (Sutton, Mass.) finished fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 5.90 meters and took seventh in the long jump with a distance of 12.46 meters. Junior Kenneth McKenna (Ossining, N.Y.) placed 12th in the weight throw with a distance of 13.60 meters.
The Crusaders will continue indoor action at New Hampshire on Jan. 23. Race time is set for 12:00 p.m.
