Holy Cross Track And Field Competes At Harvard Open

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Sophomores Erin Linnehan (Litchfield, N.H.) and Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.) each had a top three finish as the Holy Cross men's and women's track and field team competed at the Harvard Open on Saturday, Dec. 12.

Linnehan finished in third place in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.28 seconds, while Hartnett took third in the 800 with a time of 2:21.07. Junior Courtney Burgess (Dracut, Mass.) followed Hartnett across the line, finishing the 800 in eighth place with a time of 2:25.39. Sophomore Jillian Crowley (Boxborough, Mass.) finished 13th in the 400 with a time of 1:03.01 

Sophomore Alex Martin (Sutton, Mass.) led the men's team with top 20 finishes in the long jump and triple jump events. He placed 15th in the triple jump with a distance of 12.16 meters and 18th in the long jump with a distance of 6.06 meters. Junior Kenneth McKenna (Ossining, N.Y.) finished 25th in the shot put with a distance of 11.81 meters.

Select members of the Holy Cross track and field teams will compete in the Boston University Mini Meet on Dec. 19, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
