Schedule: Fall season has concluded

  • The Holy Cross men's tennis team concluded the fall season last week with a 7-0 loss against Boston University. The Crusaders have a 1-3 overall record this year.

  • Sophomore Matt Wierzel (Garden City, N.Y.) and senior Jay DeSanto (Dalton, Pa.) competed at the 2008 Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regional in New Haven, Conn., hosted by Yale. Wierzel competed in both the singles and doubles tournaments. Wierzel fell to Loic Sessagesimi of Marist in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1, while Wierzel and DeSanto were defeated in the first round of the doubles tournament by Matt Gordon and Andrew Denny of Fairleigh Dickinson, 8-5.

  • Freshman Chris Das (Melrose, Mass.) had an impressive fall season as he went 3-1 in dual matches, while Wierzel also had a solid season going 2-2 record in dual matches at No. 1 singles.
