BROOKINGS, S.D. - Senior Colin Missett (Southington, Conn.) and junior Brian Kelly (Winchester, Mass.) were named to the Division I Independent Men's Tennis All-Academic Team, as announced Wednesday morning. Other independent men's tennis programs represented along with Holy Cross are Northern Colorado, South Dakota State and Longwood. Six total student-athletes were named to the team.

The Division I Independent Men's Tennis All-Academic team was selected by sports information directors at member institutions. Nominations from each school were accepted for student-athletes who had at least a 3.20 cummulative grade-point average, had reached a sophomore athletic standing and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's matches.

Missett is one of two seniors honored as he posted a 3.61 grade-point average. The senior political science major played a majority of his matches at sixth singles and third doubles. In doubles matches, he put together a record of 5-7 during the spring season.

Kelly, an economics and accounting major, posted a grade-point average of 3.21. The junior played all of his matches at first singles during the fall season but missed the spring while studying abroad. During the fall he had a record of 4-8 in singles matches.

The Holy Cross men's tennis team finished the 2005-06 season with an overall record of 4-16 and will return to action next fall as a member of the Patriot League.
