WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross sophomore men's tennis player Matt Wierzel (Garden City, N.Y.) has earned second team All-Patriot League honors. He is the first ever Holy Cross men's tennis player to earn All-Patriot League accolades.
Wierzel, who played all of his matches at No. 1 singles, led the Crusaders with a 7-10 dual match record and a 2-3 tournament record for an overall mark of 9-13. His nine victories led the team. Wierzel won the No. 1 singles match versus Patriot League opponent Lafayette on April 4. For his first two seasons he has played all of his matches at No 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.
