Holy Cross Defeated By Lafayette, 6-1

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Sophomore Matt Wierzel (Garden City, N.Y.) won the No. 1 singles match, but the Holy Cross men's tennis team fell to Lafayette, 6-1, on April 4 at Army. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-11 (0-2 Patriot League), while Lafayette improves to 6-8 (1-2 Patriot League).

Lafayette won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point and then won five of the six singles matches for the 6-1 win. Wierzel earned Holy Cross' lone point by defeating Eric Wiley, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9.

The Crusaders return to action on April 5, when they play Patriot League opponent Lehigh at 8:00 a.m.
