Men's Tennis Shut-Out by Fairfield, 6-0

Stamford, Conn. - The Holy Cross men's tennis team opened their spring season with a 6-0 loss to Fairfield on Saturday night at the Stamford Indoor Tennis Facility in Stamford, Conn. Playing No. 1 singles was sophomore Angelo Sica (Chester, N.J.), who lost to Fairfield's Jon Fernando. 6-1, 7-5.
Freshman John Burke (Burlington, Mass.) played at No. 2 singles, dropping his match to Ryan Berthod, 6-0, 6-0. The Stag's Zach Morrison got the best of senior Marco Lombardo (Chestnut Hill, Mass.), beating the Crusader 6-0, 6-2. Sophomore Jay DeSanto (Dalton, Pa.) lost to Balazs Szkila, 6-1, 6-0.
Senior Tom Moran (Concord, N.H.) was defeated 6-2, 6-1 by Glenn Gannon. Sophomore Brendan McElhenny (Huntington, N.Y.) also dropped his match to Bob Kelly, 6-0, 6-1.
The Crusaders are back in action Sunday, February 18, taking on UConn at 6:00 pm at the East Hartford Racquet Club in East Hartford, Conn.
