Men’s Tennis Falls To Nichols, 7-0

POMFRET, Conn. – The Holy Cross men's tennis team was defeated by Nichols, 7-0, at the Pomfret School on Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Bison improve to 4-2 on the season, while the Crusaders slip to 0-3.

Holy Cross lost every match in straight sets with the closest game by freshman No. 5 singles player Rich DeGregoris (Rockville Centre, N.Y.). DeGregoris was defeated by Carlos De La Cruz, 6-4, 6-3. Crusaders No. 1 singles player, sophomore Nick Berrettini (Haverford, Pa.), lost his tilt to Brandon Roode, 6-3, 6-0.

The second doubles team of Holy Cross senior Scot Brownell (Plymouth, Mass.) and junior Connor McCann (Centerville, Mass.) fell to David Drucker and Justin DeLuca, 8-5.

The Crusaders will return to action on Friday, March 22 when they travel to West Point, N.Y. to take on Army at 8:00 p.m.
