Men's Tennis To Open 2012 Fall Season This Week
Schedule: Saturday, Sept. 8 at Stonehill Doubles Tournament, Easton, Mass.
- The Holy Cross men's tennis team opens up its 2012 fall slate when it plays in the Stonehill Doubles Tournament, hosted by Stonehill on Saturday, Sept. 8. In last year's tournament, the Crusaders won two out of the four flights, defeating both Roger Williams and Endicott.
- The 2012-2013 Holy Cross team returns with 10 letter winners, including seniors Scot Brownell (Plymouth, Mass.), Tom Casavant (New Caanan, Conn.), and Jeff Paadre (Sutton, Mass.). Brownell was 3-8 overall in singles and 0-9 in doubles competition, while Paadre went 2-2 in singles play and 0-2 in doubles. Casavant returns to the tennis court after not seeing any action during the 2011-2012 season.
- Junior Chris Brosnan (Garden City, N.Y.) returns as the team's top performer, going 5-6 overall at singles play and 6-5 in doubles competition. Brosnan's five singles wins tied the most wins by a Crusader during the season, and his six doubles victories were a team best. Fellow classmate Connor McCann (Centerville, Mass.) tied Brosnan for the team high of five singles victories.
