WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore Holy Cross men's tennis player Chris Brosnan (Garden City, N.Y.) has been selected to the 2012 Academic All-Patriot League team, as voted on by league sports information directors. To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.
Brosnan led the squad with a 3.67 GPA this past season and is majoring in Economics and Accounting. He is a member of the Holy Cross honors program and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll as a freshman. On the court, Brosnan tied the team-high in wins this season with a 5-6 record. He earned the team's only victory over a Patriot League team as he won the No. 5 singles match against Lafayette.
The Academic All-Patriot League team has been added for all sports beginning in the 2010-2011 season to honor additional student-athletes who excel both on and off the field. The men's tennis Academic All-Patriot League team has five student-athletes to equal the size of the sport's All-Patriot League first team.
