Men's Tennis Ready To Compete In 2012 Patriot League Tournament

- The Holy Cross men's tennis team heads into the final weekend of action in the 2011-2012 season, preparing for competition in the 2012 Patriot League Championship before hosting Nichols at Holy Cross Tennis Courts on Monday, April 30 for the final match of the season.
- The Crusaders will play as the No. 7 seed in the upcoming PL tournament and will compete against Lehigh in the quarterfinals. Match times are yet to be determined as Navy is this year's host with all competitions being held at the Dyer Tennis Clubhouse in Annapolis, Md. This will be the first meeting this season between Holy Cross and Lehigh. The Mountain Hawks are 11-7 overall on the season, including a 3-1 conference record. Host Navy will be the No. 1 seed in the tournament.
- Lehigh and Holy Cross met in the 2011 Patriot League quarterfinals, with Lehigh winning 4-0. The doubles team of sophomores Connor McCann (Centerville, Mass.) and Chris Brosnan (Garden City, N.Y.) won three games at No. 3 doubles, but lost 8-3. A total of three singles matches finished up with current Crusaders Chris Das (Melrose, Mass.) and McCann losing their respective No. 2 and No. 5 singles matches. Army beat Lehigh in the championship game, 4-2.
- Holy Cross and Nichols last competed this past fall, with the Crusaders winning, 5-4. The Bison are currently on a 13-match win-streak, dating back to Oct. 5 against common opponent Coast Guard. The squad will travel to Worcester with a 14-3 record and play against Endicott on Wednesday, April 25 before competing in its own conference tournament.
