  • The Holy Cross men's tennis team opens up the spring season with a trip to Coast Guard on Saturday, Feb. 11. The match will be played on Coast Guard's tennis courts in New London, Conn., starting at 1:00 p.m. Saturday serves as the Bears' first match of the spring season as well.
  • The team will look to avenge the four consecutive losses that Coast Guard has handed them, dating back to the 2009 fall season. Holy Cross lost the 2011 spring meeting, 9-0, in Connecticut. Coast Guard took the doubles points, winning all three matches.
  • A total of four players ended the fall with more wins than losses. Freshman Nick Berrettini (Haverford, Pa.) took two of his three singles matches, all played in the No. 2 spot. Sophomore Connor McCann (Centerville, Mass.) finished at 3-1, including an unblemished 2-0 at No. 6 singles. Junior Scot Brownell (Plymouth, Mass.) won his lone match of the fall as did freshman Rob Buetti (Bay Shore, N.Y.).
  • Brownell and senior Ajeya Shekar (Shrewsbury, Mass.) posted the best record in doubles action after the fall. The duo won four of their six matches together, including a perfect 3-0 record when playing in tournaments. McCann and fellow sophomore Chris Brosnan (Garden City, N.Y.) also performed well, winning both their matches.
