Chris Das Named To Academic All-Patriot League Men's Tennis Team
WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross junior men's tennis player Chris Das (Melrose, Mass.) has been selected to the inaugural Academic All-Patriot League team, as voted on by league sports information directors. To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.
A member of the 2009 and 2010 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, Das played most of his junior season as the team's No. 2 singles player, recording a 2-16 overall record. He also went 3-13 in doubles play and now has a career record of 18-41 in singles and 12-35 in doubles. Das led the team with a 3.62 GPA and is majoring in history. He was recently accepted into the Holy Cross history department's honors program, Phi Alpha Theta.
The Academic All-Patriot League team has been added for all sports beginning in the 2010-2011 season to honor additional student-athletes who excel both on and off the field. The men's tennis Academic All-Patriot League team has five student-athletes to equal the size of the sport's All-Patriot League first team.
