Crusaders Break From Competition

- The Holy Cross men's tennis takes the next three weeks off to practice and prepare for Patriot League play, which begins Friday, March 25 In West Point, N.Y. Like last season, the Crusaders will compete against host Army, Lafayette and Lehigh over two days. Holy Cross matches-up with the Black Knights first on March 25. Matches are scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. on either the Malek Courts (outdoor) or inside at the Lichtenberg tennis center.
- The Crusaders went 0-4 against Patriot League opponents during the 2009-2010 season. Sophomore Scot Brownell (Plymouth, Mass.) earned the team's lone point against conference foes, winning his No. 6 singles match against Lehigh on March 28, 2010.
- Holy Cross fell in every match against Quinnipiac this past Sunday, extending its pointless streak to four straight matches. The last time the team notched a point was on Oct. 23 against Hartford, as the team won the doubles point, but fell to the Hawks 6-1.
- Senior Matt Wierzel (Garden City, N.Y.) returned to action for the Crusaders on Sunday, falling in straight sets as the team's No. 1 singles player. With the defeat, he drops to 4-5 in dual-match play this year and 18-25 in his career.
