WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and head coach Evan Gaudreau announced the Holy Cross men's tennis 2011 spring slate today. The team will jump start the season on Feb. 12, playing at Coast Guard on its tennis courts in New London, Conn.
The Crusaders continue their first month of competition with a trip to New Haven, Conn. on Feb. 19 to play against Sacred Heart on Yale's tennis courts. The squad continues its road travels to Hamden, Conn. for a match with Quinnipiac on Feb. 27 to wrap up the first month of play. Holy Cross returns to action on March 25, traveling to West Point, N.Y., to compete in a three-day series against Patriot League opponents Army, Lafayette and Lehigh. The squad first matches up with Lafayette on March 25, plays host Army on March 26 and rounds out the weekend with a match against Lehigh on March 27.
One home match is scheduled for the month of April, as the team hosts Union on April 9 at the Holy Cross Tennis Courts. The Patriot League Tournament will be held from April 15-17. Bucknell is this year's host, as all matches will be played at the Varsity Tennis Courts in Bethlehem, Pa.
The Crusaders finished the fall slate with an overall record of 2-6 and were led by freshman Ryan Sullivan (Medfield, Mass.), who went 6-5 in singles action.
