Men's Tennis Takes Week Off To Practice Outdoors

  •  The Holy Cross men’s tennis team will have a 10-day break from action, resuming competition on Wednesday, March 24. The team will play at Springfield starting at 3:30 p.m. 
  • The Crusaders fell for the third straight time this spring season this past weekend, falling to 0-3 on the spring slate and 2-6 overall. Sophomore Ajeya Shekar (Shrewsbury, Mass.) has had the most success thus far; posting the team’s only singles victory against Coast Guard back in mid-February. He has collected a 1-1 record at the No. 6 spot this spring after falling against Quinnipiac last weekend. On the season overall, Shekar has a 1-1 record when playing as the No. 6 singles player and a 1-4 record in the No. 5 spot, totaling four wins and six losses over his sophomore campaign.
  • Two other players have swapped singles spots this spring. Sophomore Tim Regan (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) has now played as the team’s No. 4 singles player in the last two matches, dropping both match-ups. Fellow sophomore Chris Das (Melrose, Mass.) has moved into the No. 5 singles spot, falling in his two matches as well. Das held the No. 4 spot over the fall slate, collecting four wins and two losses. He currently stands at 6-5 overall this season.
  • Indoor tennis courts have not been friendly to the Holy Cross men’s tennis team as they have been swept two consecutive times when playing on indoor courts. Sacred Heart first beat them team on Yale’s Indoor Complex courts, 7-0. Quinnipiac followed with a 7-0 victory on their indoor courts this past weekend.
