Men's Tennis Looks For First Spring Victory Sunday At Quinnipiac

Overall Record: 2-5 (0-0 Patriot League); Last Week: No matches scheduled
Schedule: Sunday, Mar. 14 vs. Quinnipiac, Hamden, Conn., 2:00 p.m.

  • The Holy Cross men’s tennis comes back from spring break with a match against Quinnipiac on Sunday, Mar. 14. The match will be held at the Quinnipiac tennis courts in Hamden, Conn., beginning at 2:00 p.m.
  • None of the team’s 12 players have ever played against a Quinnipiac player in a dual-match, as the last time the two teams met was in the spring of the 2005-2006 season.  Holy Cross was swept by the Bobcats 7-0 that year. This will be the second dual-match for Quinnipiac this spring season and third overall. The team most recently competed against shared opponent Hartford last weekend, sweeping the Hawks 7-0. The Crusaders topped Hartford earlier this fall, beating the Hawks 4-3.
  • The Holy Cross men's tennis team is looking for its first spring season dual-match victory on Sunday, as they currently sit at 0-2 on the spring season.  Junior Matt Wierzel (Garden City, N.Y.) looks to return to his winning ways as he has lost his last two matches at No. 1 singles after posting a perfect 5-0 record in dual-matches this past fall.
