The squad will compete in the Stonehill Invitational, hosted by Stonehill in Easton, Mass. beginning Saturday, Oct. 3 and continuing through Sunday, Oct. 4. Matches are set to being at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The team has competed at the invitational in four of the last five seasons.
- Junior Matt Wierzel (Garden City, N.Y.) is coming off a week where he went 4-1 in singles play. He currently holds a most impressive 12-1 record in singles play this fall. His 12 wins are already three more than his 9-13 singles record from the entire 2008-2009 season. This past weekend, Wierzel topped Boston University's junior tennis player Jeff Chudacoff for the first time in five meetings.
- Sophomore Chris Das (Melrose, Mass.) is also marking major wins this season. He currently holds a 4-1 record (3-1 dual, 1-0 tournament) at No. 4 singles. His one tournament victory is a career-high, as he went 0-1 in tournament play last season. He is just three wins away from tying his seven triumphs over the entire 2008-2009 season. Das also has two wins in doubles play with senior companion Dan Phelan (Chicopee, Mass.), one win shy of his three doubles victories from last season.
- As a team, the Crusaders have registered an even 2-2 mark in dual-play this fall season. They have combined for 13 points total, with 10 points coming from singles wins and three from doubles. The Crusaders have earned three more points than the 10 points totaled over the entire 2008 fall season with one more dual-meet to go.
