Holy Cross Men's Tennis Drops Match To Siena, 6-1
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Four Siena
tennis players went undefeated in the meet as Holy Cross lost to
the Saints, 6-1, at Central Park in Schenectady, N.Y. With the loss
the Crusaders drop to 1-2 on the season while the Saints improve to
2-1.
Junior Matt Wierzel (Garden, City, N.Y.) remains
undefeated in singles action so far this season for the Crusaders.
He defeated Michael Amico at No. 1 singles 7-5, 6-4. Siena swept
the six remaining matches in the meet. Amico teamed with Jarrett
Siewiec to defeat Wierzel and senior John Burke
(Burlington, Mass.) at No. 1 doubles, 9-8.
Siena's Dylan Roberts defeated Burke 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Jay
Godbole, Nick Godbole and Vikaran Kadaba won all their matches
during the meet for Siena, in addition to Siewiec.
Holy Cross is next in action Tuesday, Sept. 22 when it travels to
West Hartford, Conn. to battle Hartford. The match is set to start
at 4:00 p.m.
