
2008-2009: Went 7-12 overall at singles (7-11 dual-match
play and 0-1 tournament play) and went 3-12 overall at doubles
(2-10 dual-match play and 1-2 tournament play)...his seven singles
victories ranked second on the team and his 7-11 dual-match record
was also the second best on the team...had a 1-0 record at No. 1
singles, a 2-5 record at No. 5 singles and a 4-6 record at No. 6
singles...won his first collegiate match as he took the No. 6
singles match, 6-1, 6-2, versus Coast Guard (Sept. 13)...earned a
6-0, 6-1 win over Hofstra (Oct. 5) at No. 5 singles...won the No. 5
singles match against Hartford (Oct. 8), 6-3, 6-4, as the Crusaders
won the match 5-2...took the No. 6 singles match from Coast Guard
(Feb. 14), 6-4, 6-1...won the No. 6 singles match over Le Moyne
(March 27), 6-1, 6-0, as Holy Cross won the match 4-3...swept the
No. 4 singles match with American International (April 1) as the
Crusaders swept the match...earned a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Hartford
(April 7) at No. 6 singles as Holy Cross won the match 4-3...went
0-1 at No. 3 doubles with Kevin Leggio, 0-1 at No. 2 doubles with
Matt Wierzel, 1-2 at No. 2 doubles with Dan Phelan and 1-6 at No. 3
doubles with Phelan...won the No. 2 doubles match with Phelan over
American International (April 1), 8-1...was victorious with Phelan
versus Hartford (April 7) at No. 3 doubles, 8-5...member of the
Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
Before Holy Cross: Four-year member of the varsity tennis team at Melrose H.S. for coach Jim Atkinson...team captain as a senior...team qualified for the 2008 state tournament and won the 2007 MIAA Gold Award for academics...had a 18-3 record as a senior...also a one-year member of the varsity cross country team...member of National Honor Society...had a class rank of No. 3.
