Men's Tennis Places Seven On Academic Honor Roll

WORCESTER, Mass. - Seven members of the Holy Cross men's tennis team have been selected to the 2009 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office, including seniors Jay DeSanto (Dalton, Pa.) and Angelo Sica (Chester, N.J.) who made the Academic Honor Roll for the third time. Holy Cross' seven selections were the second most in the league.

The other members of the team to be named to the honor roll were senior Brendan McElhenny (Huntington, N.Y.), junior Dan Phelan (Chicopee, Mass.), freshman Chris Das (Melrose, Mass.), freshman Dan Sheehan (Huntington, N.Y.) and freshman Ajeya Shekar (Shrewsbury, Mass.).

A total of 33 student-athletes from men's tennis teams around the league were named to the Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League sponsored winter or spring championship sports.
