Worcester, Mass. - Freshman Aaron Brosnan (Westford, Mass.) and sophomore Conor O'Neil (Concord, N.H.) both earned Patriot League Men's Swimming and Diving Weekly honors, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. Brosnan was named Male Swimmer of the Week for his performance against Boston College on Tuesday, February 6. His time of 53:00 in the 100-yard butterfly was fast enough to win the event for the Crusaders.
O'Neil was named Male Diver of the Week, for finishing second in both diving events against BC. O'Neil accumulated 131.40 points on the 1-meter board and 109.73 points on the 3-meter board.
In the meet against Fairfield on Saturday, February 3, Brosnan was part of two events wins. Individually he won the 200-yard IM in 2:06.86. He was also the first leg of the 400-yard medley relay team that took first. O'Neil placed fourth in both diving events in that meet.
The Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team is currently preparing for the Patriot League Championship, which is being held at Bucknell University in Bethlehem, Pa. The Championship begins on Thursday, February 15 and continues through Saturday, February 17. Events start at 10:00 am each day of the competition.
