Men's Swimming & Diving Team Competes At Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. - Junior Joseph McShane (Chatham, N.J.) led the Crusaders with three top 24 finishes as the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team competed in the Terrier Invitational at Boston University on Friday, Nov. 21-Sunday, Nov. 23.

The 400 free relay, swam by junior Brian Livingston (Auburn, Wash.), senior Rob Acker (Ames, Iowa), senior David Drummond (Swampscott, Mass.) and McShane finished ninth with a season-best time of 3:22.17. Holy Cross also had a season-best time in the 200 medley relay. Acker, Livingston, junior Aaron Brosnan (Westford, Mass.) and McShane finished 10th with a time of 1:43.17.

In the individual events, McShane led the Crusaders with three top 24 finishes. In the 50 free McShane finished in 20th place with a season-best time of 22.92, in the 200 free he finished 21st in a season-best 1:50.58 and in the 100 free he touched the wall in 18th place with a career-best time of 49.14. Livingston finished 19th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.50 and 18th in the 200 breaststroke in 2:23.90. Also finishing in the top 24 for Holy Cross was sophomore Sean Hager (Westfield, N.J) 18th in the 400 IM in a season-best 4:32.47, freshman Matt Sottile (Wethersfield, Conn.) 21st in the 1650 free in a career-best 19:09.05, sophomore Aidan McGrath (Quincy, Mass.) 24th in the 200 back in a season-best 2:06.35 and freshman Michael Burns (East Amherst N.Y.) 19th in the 200 breast in 2:24.12.

On the three meter diving board, freshman Adam DeVito (Walpole, Mass.) led the Crusaders with a score of 202.55 and junior Joshua Rodriguez (Dudley, Mass.) scored 158.15.

Holy Cross returns to the pool on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5-6 at the Harold Anderson Invitational in Kingston, R.I.
