Holy Cross Swimming & Diving Teams Downed By Army

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Holy Cross women's 200 medley relay team started the night off with a victory, but it wasn't enough as the Holy Cross men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to Army on Wednesday night. The men's team fell to Army, 162-131, dropping to an overall record of 0-4 (0-2 Patriot League). The women's team fell to Army, 166-134, and now falls to 1-4 (0-2 Patriot League).

The women's 200 yard medley relay, comprised of Gael Carter (Tampa, Fla.), Maggie Gousman (Fanwood, N.J.), Annie O'Shea (Washington, D.C.) and Alisha Carrazza (Boonton Township, N.J), started the evening off with a first place finish. The Crusaders touched the wall in 1:55.06, almost a minute quicker than second place finisher Army. Gousman also finished first for the Crusaders in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:08.66) and the 200 yard breaststroke (2:31.85).

The men's team was led by season best times from multiple swimmers including Joseph McShane (Chatham, N.J.) in the 200 yard freestyle (1:53.12), Brian Hendrickson (West Hartford, Conn.) in the 100 yard backstroke (1:01.96), Dan Kennedy (Bolton, Conn.) in the 50 yard freestyle (23.17), Aidan McGrath (Quincy, Mass.) in the 200 yard backstroke (2:08.25) and Sean Hager (Westfield, N.J.) and Ryan Boate (Pleasantville, N.Y.) both in the 500 yard freestyle.

The Crusaders return to action at the Terrier Invitational on November 21-23 in Boston, Mass.
