Crusaders Wrap Up Competition At Patriot League Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior Brian Livingston (Auburn, Wash.) had a season-best performance in the 200 breast as the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team concluded competition at the Patriot League Championships at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium Saturday night. The Crusaders finished in eighth place with 123 points. Navy claimed first with 1031.5 points, Bucknell took second with 635, Army in third with 596 points, Lehigh fourth (357.5 points), Colgate fifth (353 points), Lafayette sixth (202 points) and American seventh (141 points).

In Saturday's finals, the Crusaders were led by Livingston's 15th place finish in the 200 breast with a season-best time of 2:14.78, while freshman Michael Burns (East Amherst N.Y.) touched the wall in 16th place with a season-best time of 2:17.30. Junior Ryan Boate (Pleasantville, N.Y.) placed 20th in the 1650 free with a time of 17:23.56.

Holy Cross took eighth place in the 400 free relay, swam by junior Joseph McShane (Chatham, N.J.), senior Rob Acker (Ames, Iowa), senior David Drummond (Swampscott, Mass.) and senior Ian MacLaren (Cortez, Colo.) with a time of 3:15.94.

The Crusader wrapped up competition at the Patriot League Championships and conclude the 2008-2009 season.
