Men's Swimming & Diving Defeated by BC, 148-119

Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team lost their final meet of the regular season Tuesday night to Boston College, 148-119 at the Hart Center Pool. The Crusaders took two events from the Eagles on the night, the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard freestyle. Freshman Aaron Brosnan (Westford, Mass.) won the 100-yard butterfly, touching the pad in 53.00 seconds. Junior Chris Smith (West Haven, Conn.) won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:51.27.

Senior Brian Jackson (Phoenixville, Pa.) took second in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing in 2:06.65. Finishing fourth in the event, Jackson's classmate Kevin Mullaney (Livingston, N.J.) finished fourth in the event in 2:13.85. Freshman Brian Livingston (Auburn, Wa.) took second in the 200-yard breaststroke, covering the distance in 2:30.55. Smith took second in his second freestyle event of the evening, the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 5:03.24.

In the diving events, sophomore Conor O'Neil (Concord, N.H.) took second on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. Off of the 1-meter board, he earned a total of 131.40 points and 109.73 points on the 3-meter board.

The Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team travels to Lewisburg, Pa. For the Patriot League Championship, being hosted by Bucknell. The three-day meet is set to start on Thursday, February 15 and continues through Saturday, February 17. Events are scheduled to start at 10:00 am each day of the competition.
