WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior Brian Livingston (Auburn, Wash.) finished first in two individual events, but it was not enough as the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team fell to Bryant, 139-123, Tuesday evening at the Hart Center. The dual meet went down to the wire with Bryant winning the last event, the 200 free relay, and securing the team victory.
Livingston led the Crusaders with a first place finish in the 50 breast with a time of 29.31 and a first place finish in the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.55.
Before the start of the meet, Holy Cross honored its nine seniors for their commitment and hard work as members of the swimming and diving team. Senior Rob Acker (Ames, Iowa) finished first in the 100 free with a time of 51.24, while senior David Drummond (Swampscott, Mass.) took fourth with a time of 52.16. Senior Dan Kennedy (Bolton, Conn.) finished fourth in the 50 free with a time of 23.59, while senior Brian Hendrickson (West Hartford, Conn.) took second in the 50 breast with a time of 28.74. Senior Ian MacLaren (Cortez, Colo.) finished third in the 50 fly with a time of 25.7. Seniors Brian Lasonde (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and Mike Marquet (Reston, Va.) swam on the fifth place 200 free relay team, finishing in 1:49.24.
The Crusaders continue action in the Hart Center pool, hosting Boston College on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 6:00 p.m.
