Swimming & Diving Announces Team Awards And 2013-2014 Captains

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head swimming and diving coach Barry Parenteau has announced team awards for the 2012-2013 season, along with captains for the 2013-2014 season. The Crusaders held a year end awards banquet on Sunday, April 14.

On the women's side, sophomore Mary Kate Schulte (Des Moines, Iowa) was named Most Valuable Swimmer while sophomore Anna Villani (Hanover, Mass.) received the Outstanding Year Award. Senior Clare Reidy (Northford, Conn.) earned Most Improved Swimmer, sophomoreKristie Coleman (Brooklyn, N.Y.) won Comeback Swimmer of the Year and sophomore diver Alicia LiCalzi (New Canaan, Conn.) was named Rookie of the Year.

For the men, senior Brian Power (Southport, Conn.) was named Most Valuable Swimmer while junior Nick Videtti (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) was named Diver of the Year. Sophomore Andrew Olivieri (Newark, Del.) won the Outstanding Year Award and senior Ned Supple (Needham, Mass.) and freshman Tyler Wright (Waterboro, Maine) were named Most Improved Swimmers.

Rising seniors Eileen McGowan (Winston-Salem, N.C.)Cassandra Perry (Sudbury, Mass.) and Kelsey Poremba (Bedford, N.H.) will serve as captains of the women's team next season, while rising seniors Tim Liddy (Garden City, N.Y.)Kevin O'Connor (Ridgewood, N.J.) and Jan Yburan (Livingston, N.J.) will serve as captains of the men's team. Videtti will also serve as the diving captain.
