  • The Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team (0-2 overall, 0-1 Patriot League) will take a break from competition until Jan. 20-21 when it hosts the Worcester City Championship at the Hart Center.
  • Last season , the men's team took second place at the 10th annual Worcester City Championship, including a sweep in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. In the 100 breast, junior Brian Power (Southport, Conn.) took first with a meet-record (1:02.26), sophomore Tim Liddy (Garden City, N.Y.) finished second (1:04.92) and senior Michael Burns (East Amherst N.Y.) placed third (1:05.57). The trio replicated the feat in the 200 breast with Power finishing first (2:17.05), Liddy in second (2:22.31) and Burns in third (2:24.00).
  • Sophomore Kevin O'Connor (Ridgewood, N.J.) ranks 11th in the Patriot League in the 800 Free (9:38.48). Junior Brian Lyons (Greenwich, Conn.) holds the 15th best time in the 400 Free (4:37.62) and the 19th ranked time in the 1650 Free (17:21.39). Sophomore Jan Yburan (Livingston, N.J.) ranks 17th in the 200 Back with a time of 1:57.00, while his time 53.76 in the 100 Back ranks 19th.
  • Following the Worcester City Championship, the Crusaders will swim in three dual meets before traveling to Navy for the Patriot League Championship on Feb. 16-18. Holy Cross hosts Providence on Jan. 28 for the final home meet of the season Holy and then will travel to Boston College on Feb. 2 and Bryant on Feb. 4.
