WORCESTER, Mass. –The Holy Cross men's and women's swimming and diving teams were unable to keep pace with a strong Bryant team Saturday afternoon, as the women's team fell by a score of 142-128, while the men's team suffered a 170-94 loss. Prior to the start of the meet, Holy Cross honored seniors Sean Hager (Westfield, N.J.), Matthew Hynes (Maywood, N.J.), Nick Larsen (Whitman, Mass.), Aidan McGrath (Quincy, Mass.), Matt Mullaney (Livingston, N.J.), Gael Carter (Tampa, Fla.), Emily Greeke (Hamilton, Mass.), Sarah Kearns (Marion, Mass.), Sam Lenhardt (Duxbury, Mass.), Erin Meegan (Woodbine, Md.) and Molly O'Brien (Bedford, N.Y.). Holy Cross also honored cancer survivors with 'Think Pink' day by wearing pink swim caps and suits.
The men's team was led by sophomore Brian Power (Southport, Conn.) with two first place finished. Power finished first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.40 and first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:15.18. Freshman Jan Yburan (Livingston, N.J.) won the 100 back with a time of 56.07 seconds. The women's team was led by junior Annie O'Shea (Washington, D.C.) with a first place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 2:13.69 and sophomore Kristen Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine) with a first place finish in the 200 back with a time of 2:13.85. The relay team of junior Maggie Beaudouin (Madison, N.J.), sophomore Nicole Passa (East Greenwich, R.I.), sophomore Gina Mannix (Larchmont, N.Y.) and Carter won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:45.11.
Holy Cross has concluded its regular season and will begin preparing for the Patriot League Championship on Feb. 17-19.
