PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Annie O'Shea (Washington, D.C.), sophomore Brian Power (Southport, Conn.) and freshman Jan Yburan (Livingston, N.J.) each won two events, but it wasn't enough for a team victory as the Holy Cross swimming and diving teams fell at Providence Saturday afternoon. The men's team fell by a score of 192-107, while the women's team suffered a 195-104 defeat,
O'Shea won the 200 fly with a time of 2:29.95 and touched the wall first in the 100 fly with a time of 1:09.41, while Power won the 100 breast with a time of 1:09.69 and placed first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:32.41. Sophomore Kristen Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine) won the 200 IM with a time of 2:30.78, while Yburan won the 200 back with a time of 2:20.80 and the 100 back with a time of 1:03.42.
Holy Cross returns home to the Hart Center for two meets next week. On Thursday, Feb. 3, the men's team will host Boston College at 6:00 p.m. and then on Saturday, Feb. 5, both teams will honor its seniors at the home meet against Bryant at 1:00 p.m.
