Holy Cross Men’s Swimming & Diving Takes Fifth At URI

KINGSTON, R.I. - Sophomore diver Adam DeVito (Walpole, Mass.) took first in the three meter diving competition to lead the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team to a fifth place finish at the Harold Anderson Invitational hosted by the University of Rhode Island on Dec. 4-5. Springfield claimed the top spot in the team competition with 743 points.

DeVito took first on the three meter board with a score of 251.85. Freshman Brian Power (Southport, Conn.) finished in third place in the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.34 to lead the Crusaders in the swim events. Power also finished sixth in the 200 breast with a time of 2:24.63.

Junior Sean Hager (Westfield, N.J.) had season-best performances in the 200 and 400 IM. Hager finished the 200 IM in eighth place with a season-best time of 2:07.90, while he took fourth in the 400 IM with a season-best time of 4:37.86.

The Crusaders will take a break from competition, returning to the pool on January 20, 2010 against Bryant.
