WORCESTER, Mass. - Sixteen members of the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team have been selected to the 2009 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office, including sophomore Matt Mullaney (Livingston, N.J.) who earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in the spring semester. He was just one of six members of the men's swimming and diving honor roll to record a 4.0. Also senior Brian Hendrickson (West Hartford, Conn.) made the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for the fourth time. Holy Cross' 16 selections were the second most in the league.
The other members of the team to be named to the honor roll were seniors Rob Acker (Ames, Iowa), Dan Kennedy (Bolton, Conn.), Brian Lasonde (East Longmeadow, Mass.), Ian MacLaren (Cortez, Colo.) and Mike Marquet (Reston, Va.); juniors Brian Livingston (Auburn, Wash.), Joseph McShane (Chatham, N.J.), Stefan Opolski (Haverhill, Mass.) and Joshua Rodriguez (Dudley, Mass.); sophomores Sean Hager (Westfield, N.J.), Matthew Hynes (Maywood, N.J.) and Aidan McGrath (Quincy, Mass.); and freshmen Michael Brombach (St. Paul, Minn.) and Michael Burns (East Amherst, N.Y.).
A total of 95 student-athletes from men's swimming and diving teams around the league were named to the Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League sponsored winter or spring championship sports.
