Holy Cross To Host Patriot League Men's Soccer Tournament

WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross will serve as the host institution for the 2007 Patriot League men's soccer tournament. The Crusaders earned the right to be at home for the conference tournament after claiming the Patriot League regular season title. Holy Cross went 4-0-3 in the conference to finish in first place with 15 points. Colgate (14 points, 4-1-2) placed second in the Patriot League, while Bucknell (13 points, 4-2-1) was third and Lafayette (12 points, 3-1-3) came in fourth.
The Patriot League Tournament will take place at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium on Friday, Nov. 16, and Sunday, Nov. 18. Semifinal games will take place on Friday, with Holy Cross facing Lafayette at 3:00 p.m., and Colgate taking on Bucknell at 6:00 p.m. The winners will then meet in the championship game on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
All games in the Patriot League Tournament will be available free of charge through live video streaming over the internet. The games can be accessed through the Patriot League All-Access package, while Holy Cross games can also be seen through the Crusader All-Access package.
Tickets for the Patriot League Tournament will cost $5.00 per day for adults and $1.00 per day for children. Students at Patriot League schools will be admitted free of charge with a valid school ID.
Holy Cross will be looking to win the Patriot League Tournament for only the second time in school history. The Crusaders' only conference tournament title came during the 2002 season. This year, Holy Cross won the Patriot League regular season championship for the fifth time (previous titles came in 1995, 1999, 2001 and 2002).
