WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore forward Felipe Castrillon (Weston, Fla.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from September 4-10. Castrillon scored a pair of goals, as the Holy Cross men's soccer team posted a 1-1 record on the week.
In Friday's 5-3 home victory over St. Bonaventure, Castrillon scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at the 49:53 mark, giving the Crusaders a 4-2 lead at the time. He also scored Holy Cross' lone goal in Sunday's 2-1 loss to Siena, giving the Crusaders a 1-0 advantage 31 minutes into the game.
Castrillon has now scored three goals on the season, to rank second on the team in scoring with six points. Over the course of his career at Holy Cross, he has totaled 14 points on seven goals.
The Crusaders (3-1 overall) return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 12, when they travel to Sacred Heart for a 4:00 p.m. game. Holy Cross will play its Patriot League opener this Saturday, Sept. 16, when they play host to Bucknell at 3:00 p.m.
