Patriot League Preseason Men's Soccer Poll Released

The Holy Cross men's soccer team has been picked to finish eighth in the 2007 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Lehigh was picked to finish first as it earned 11 of 16 first place votes and 95 total points. Bucknell earned four first place votes and 83 total points as it was picked to finish second, followed by Lafayette ranked third with one first place vote and 77 total points. Ranked fourth was Colgate with 62 total points followed by American (47 total points), Army (39 total points), Navy (28 total points) and Holy Cross finishing up eighth with 17 total points.
The Crusaders are set to kick off the 2007 season when they host Manhattan at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium on Saturday, September 1, at 7:00 p.m. Holy Cross returns nine players starters and eighteen letterwinners from last season. The Crusaders also welcome eleven newcomers.
