WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and head men's soccer coach Elvis Comrie have announced the Crusaders' schedule for the 2007 season. Holy Cross is scheduled to play a total of 17 games this season, including eight contests at home at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium and four games against teams which advanced to the 2006 NCAA Tournament (Bucknell, Harvard, Lehigh and Providence).
The Crusaders will open the season at home with a game against Manhattan (Sept. 1), followed by an away contest at Maine (Sept. 5). Holy Cross will then play two straight home matches versus Quinnipiac (Sept. 8) and Sacred Heart (Sept. 11). The Crusaders then hit the road for four consecutive games with contests against Providence (Sept. 15), Northeastern (Sept. 18), Siena (Sept. 22) and New Hampshire (Sept. 25). The Crusaders begin Patriot League action when they host Colgate (Sept. 29) to conclude the month.
Holy Cross opens the month of October with two more league games with an away match at Bucknell (Oct. 6) and a home contest with Lehigh (Oct. 13). After road games at Harvard (Oct. 17) and Navy (Oct. 20), Holy Cross will host American (Oct. 27) and Boston College (Oct. 31). The Crusaders conclude the regular season with an away match at Army (Nov. 3) and a home game with Lafayette (Nov. 10).
The Patriot League Tournament is set for Nov. 16-18, on the campus of the regular season champion. The top four teams in the final regular season standings will take part in the tournament.
