Holy Cross Men's Soccer Announces 2008 Team Captains

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's soccer team has announced seniors Andreas Andrews (Los Angeles, Calif.), Jerry Dickinson (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Alejandro Melean (Miami, Fla.) as the 2008 team tri-captains.
A midfielder, Andrews has made 44 career appearances and 42 starts for the Crusaders. Last year, he recorded five goals and one assist for 11 points, tying him for second on the team in total points and goals scored. Andreas netted two game-winning goals last season against Patriot League opponents, Lehigh (10/13) and Navy (10/20). Last season, he was named to the Patriot League All-League first team and the 2007 National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Mid Atlantic Region Third Team. Andrews is also two-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
A defender, Dickinson has started in 48 games over the last three years. A three-time co-captain, he has three goals and one assist for seven points so far in his career. He is also a two-time member of the Patriot League All-Academic Honor Roll and was named to the 2007 Patriot League All-League second team.
A defender, Melean has seen action in 48 games throughout his career, making 35 starts. Last season, he had five goals and one assist for 11 points, tying him for second on the team in total points and goals scored. Melean was also named to 2007 the Patriot League All-League first team.
The 2008 Crusaders will return eight starters from last year's team and welcome six incoming freshmen.
