Bethlehem, Pa. - Holy Cross men's soccer drops their second Patriot League game to Lehigh, 4-1 Saturday at Ulrich Field.
The Crusaders had seven shots in the first half, but could not put one away as the Mountain Hawks took a 2-0 lead.
Within ten minutes into the second half, Senior Josh Trott (Glen Cove, N.Y.) scored for the Crusaders to end Lehigh's home shutout streak. This was his eighth goal of the year and 26th of his career.
The Crusaders stayed within one goal for the next fifteen minutes until Lehigh put two more goals away at 70:22 and 75:54 to increase their lead by three.
The Mountain Hawks outscored the Crusaders 14-10.
Holy Cross falls to 4-4 overall and 0-2 in league play while Lehigh, ranked fifth in the Mid-Atlantic Region, improve to 7-1-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Patriot League.
The Crusaders host Providence in non-league action, Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
