Worcester, Mass. - Sophomore Felipe Castrillon (Weston, Fla.) scored the game-winning goal and his fifth of the season while senior Josh Trott (Glen Cove, N.Y) scored his sixth and seventh goal of the year and added an assist as the Crusaders defeated Northeastern, Tuesday in men's soccer action at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.
Trott put the Crusaders on the board on a break away given to him by Alex Cruz (Conyers, Ga.) as he tapped the ball around Northeastern's goalie creating an open shot on goal two minutes into the game.
Northeastern came back on a direct kick outside the box scored by Greg Kilkenny (Bray Wilkow, Ireland) at 31:33.
Trott scored the go ahead goal on a penalty kick at 18:30, his second of the game.
The Huskies knotted the game when Nicholas Patrikis (Nanuet, N.Y.) headed in a cross from Matthew Lanning (Southborough, Ma.) just out of the reach of Holy Cross keeper Keith Bauer (Commack, N.Y.).
The score remained tied at two going into the second half and stayed that way until 11 minutes left in the game when Castrillon made his way from midfield on a pass from Trott to score the game-winning goal.
Bauer had four saves on 13 shots in goal for the Crusaders.
Holy Cross improves to 4-3 overall while Northeastern drops to 4-2-2.
The Crusaders will travel to Lehigh Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
