Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision To Central Connecticut

WORCESTER, Mass. - Central Connecticut's Robert Cavener scored the game-winning goal with 12:18 minutes left to play, as the Holy Cross men's soccer team fell to Central Connecticut, 1-0, at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium in non-conference action on Tuesday night. With the loss, the Crusaders drop to 1-1 on the season, while the Blue Devils pick up their first win of the season, 1-0.

Holy Cross junior goalkeeper Thomas Booth (Patchogue, N.Y.) made three saves in the scoreless first half while Paul Armstrong had two stops for Central Connecticut.

After being locked at a 0-0 score going into the 79th minute, Cavener kicked in a loose a ball in front of the net into the right corner for the Blue Devils.

Booth finished the game with five stops for the Crusaders while Armstrong had three saves for Central Connecticut.

The men's soccer team returns to action on Saturday, September 6, as they host Providence with a game scheduled at 7:00 p.m.
